WhatsApp for sports clubs and schools

Get fixtures, training changes and fee reminders to every parent and player, and know who's coming without chasing replies in a group chat.

What you can send

Every message comes from your own WhatsApp number, and replies land in your Sonar inbox. A few examples:

How Sonar helps

  • Know who's coming. Match and event invites with one-tap answers, a running count, a waitlist, reminders and check-in for attendance. Weekly training works as a series. WhatsApp RSVPs for events
  • A group for every team. Tag players and parents by team or age group, and message just the U13s or just the coaches. How it works
  • Private, not a group chat. Each parent gets the message on their own, so nobody's number is shown to everyone, and answers don't get lost in a busy group.
  • Reminders that repeat. Schedule fee reminders and weekly notices, or repeat a broadcast every week, 2 weeks or 4 weeks.
  • One inbox for the committee. Replies come into one shared inbox with unlimited team members, so the coach, the treasurer and the secretary can all help.
  • Consent from parents. Opt-in buttons, STOP handled automatically, and a consent record for every contact. How it works

What it costs

Say you message 250 customers in a month, with 500 marketing messages and 1,000 updates. That fits the Starter plan at R349 a month. WhatsApp's own charges, paid to Meta from your card, come to about R468.

Plans start with a free trial of 50 contacts and 250 messages, with replies you type free, no card needed. Work out your own month with the calculator.

Questions

Why not just use a WhatsApp group?

In a group everyone sees everyone's number, important messages get buried, and counting who's coming means scrolling. Sonar messages each person privately and counts the answers for you.

Do parents need to install anything?

No. Messages arrive in WhatsApp like any other, and answering is one tap.

Can we import our player list?

Yes, from a spreadsheet, with your teams as tags. See Import your contacts.
